Bankruptcy Forms

Bankruptcy Basics provides basic information to debtors, creditors, court personnel, the media, and the general public on different aspects of federal bankruptcy laws. It also provides individuals who may be considering bankruptcy with a basic explanation of the different chapters under which a bankruptcy case may be filed and answers some of the most commonly asked questions about the bankruptcy process.

DISTRICT AND BANKRUPTCY COURT E-FILE REGISTRATION

Registration for District and Bankruptcy ECF is separate from and in addition to registering for PACER. PACER registration grants you access to view docket reports and documents from a court’s database, while ECF registration will enable you to file documents electronically. When you register for a filer account, you must already have a PACER account to be able to view documents. Each District and Bankruptcy court handles filer registrations individually. To register for filing privileges in one of these courts you must contact that court directly.

PACER CASE LOCATOR

The PACER Case Locator is a national index for U.S. District, Bankruptcy, and Appellate courts. A small subset of information from each case is transferred to the PACER Case Locator server each night. The system serves as a locator index for PACER. You may conduct nationwide searches to determine whether or not a party is involved in federal litigation.
